Exercise and fertility

Nutrition is just part of the fertility picture. Lifestyle and in particular strength and fitness play a big role in our overall-health.

Body composition, sleep & recovery status, as well as stress management are proven to contribute to fertility and improve the odds of conception..

The NHS guidelines for all adults is to include strength training that focuses on all the major muscle groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms) twice per week, as well as at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity, or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity activity.

Hayley is a qualified PT with six years of experience exclusively training women; she is keen to support you on your fertility journey and beyond.

“Women who do regular moderate exercise become pregnant more quickly.”

How it works…

  • We will have an initial 30-minute consultation over Microsoft Teams.

  • Initially you will be sent an online questionnaire to determine your goals, injury history, equipment availability etc.

And then before I begin writing your personalised exercise plan, you will complete a simple movement screening that can be performed at home or in the gym – wherever your most comfortable. This helps to ensure I’ve captured all the details I need to provide you with a tailored and effective programme.

  • The programmes are all delivered via a user-friendly app where you can clearly access your weekly workouts. There are demonstration videos and tips provided for each exercise and you will log your progress in here too.

  • I encourage you to film up to 3 exercises per workout and submit the video via the app where I will provide analysis/feedback and tips each week.

  • There is a chat function on the app where we can keep in touch, you can think of me as your pocket PT.

  • I would recommend having access to a gym so you can challenge your muscles with the variety of weights and equipment on offer however it isn’t essential and we can make use of weights, bodyweight training and exercise bands at home too.

  • The online coaching programmes cost £175 per month. This includes a 4 week programme, with 3-5 training days per week depending on what we determine is the best fit for you.

  • There is no subscription. You can cancel at any time and payments will terminate at the end of your 4-week plan.

  • Absolutely, I would love to have you along.

  • Yes I am experienced and qualified to train postpartum.
